A major phase of the water supply and sewerage modernisation programme has been completed in Almalyk, Tashkent Region. As part of the works, more than 25 kilometres of sewerage networks were constructed, providing around 6,000 households with access to a modern wastewater system.

project delivery

The works in Almalyk were carried out under Contract TS-CW-05, covering the construction and reconstruction of sewerage networks in Almalyk and Bekabad. The project forms part of the third phase of a wider programme to develop drinking water supply and sewerage systems across cities and districts of the Tashkent Region, supported by the Asian Development Bank.
T.T.SH-INSHAAT acted as the general contractor, while Probuild Generation participated in the construction works as a subcontractor. In Almalyk, the team constructed more than 25 kilometres of sewerage networks in densely developed urban areas.
Delivery required close coordination with the existing city infrastructure. Construction took place near railway lines, roads and underground utilities, with engineers and construction teams working around electrical cables, water networks and other existing services to ensure safe execution and maintain the uninterrupted operation of the surrounding infrastructure.
Additional technical challenges included ground conditions with high sand and gravel content, as well as elevated groundwater levels. Despite these conditions, the works were completed in accordance with the established schedule and international quality standards.
